Theatre
Creative and Cultural Work in the Theatre Sector
As well as my work training theatre staff on the Social Model of Disability, I am also a keen theatre goer and creative. I have a long working history at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, both as a trainer for front-line staff and as a reviewer for Broadway Baby.
ANIMAL
I am the co-creator of ANIMAL, an award-winning play written by Jon Bradfield, partly inspired by my own experiences using apps to meet my immediate needs as well as in the hope of finding more intimate relationships. ANIMAL explores disability, sexuality, relying on other people, and what happens when some of those relationships break down.
Our 2023 tour of ANIMAL was reviewed in The Times (4*) as "a play that is so bold, so outspoken and so thoroughly unpredictable", and in TimeOut (4*) as "hard-hitting but wildly entertaining".
